HOUSTON – Houston police confirm a person was shot in the Texas Medical Center on Friday morning.
The shooting was reported just before 9 a.m. in the 6600 block of Main Street near Texas Children’s Hospital. Police say a victim was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in unknown condition.
A witness tells KHOU 11 News the victim was a man wearing scrubs. He flagged down a passing ambulance for help.



Police say the shooter was a person on a bicycle, and he or she fled the scene
A detailed description of the suspect was not immediately available.
As of 11 a.m. the roadway remained partially blocked with heavy police presence and an active investigation.
